The Fragile Woman

The Fragile Woman is a solo I created in response to a conversation I had with Sigrid Zahner, about what women "should" be in life. Sigrid in return constructed the costume out of welded copper, porcelain sculptures, my personal barbie dolls, and found fox fur. The costume inhibited my movement, making the process of dancing laborious, much like the social constructs women need to navigate through every day.

The Fragile Woman premiered at the 13th annual Outlet Dance Festival at the Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. It was one of 18 pieces featured in the live dance performances section of the festival.
